ABC's of Annie: Lovely Things

Annie from Lovely Things is my guest today for my latest installment of ABC's.  Annie is one of those people you know you'd be great friends with if you met them in person.  She takes the most beautiful photos {note to self to take a photography class} and showcases her gorgeous home, great design and incredible recipes on her blog. If you aren't a loyal reader, I promise you will be now!

Favorite flower:  Peonies, garden roses, hydrangeas, quince, dahlias...

Greatest film:  I always love Nancy Myers films for the sets, music, characters...but lately I would have to say Midnight in Paris.  I absolutely love it.
Height:  5'10"
Instrument you play or have played:  I wish...but I do enjoy listening to music.
Job you'd love to have:  A painter.

Live: Currently Southern California, but relocating back to the New York/Connecticut area this summer and can't wait to get moved and settled.
Mom's name:  Connie
Nickname:  Well my name's Annie...so...
Overnight hospital stays:  Just when I had my kids.
Pet peeve:  I would have to say rudeness.  You know like when you hold the door open for someone and they walk right through without noticing the gesture.  A few years ago my son held the door for a group of people and they just walked right on by never even noticing this adorable little boy holding the door for them.  After they were well out of ear shot I heard him say, "Enjoy the show!"  So now when this happens, it always makes me think of this moment.
Quote:

Right or left handed:  Right
Siblings:  older brother and twin sister
Time you wake up:  5:45
University attended:  Arizona State University
Vegetables you dislike:  Broccoli
What makes you run late:  I really hate being late, but I often think I have time for one more thing before I leave the house.
X-rays:  My teeth
Yummy food you make:  Depends who you ask.  My 12 year old tells me I put the perfect smear of butter on a toasted bagel.
Zoo animal:  The flamingo-- I would love to channel some of that balance.

Thank you again, Annie!   I am putting Amelia Island on my must visit list.  I could really use some warm, sunny weather right now!  I love that your children are so thoughtful and gracious to others.  Such an important quality to have.  xo
