BEFORE & AFTER: BEDSIDE TABLES

I wouldn't exactly call myself a DIY type of person, but there are a few things I can tackle on my own.  I have been wanting to try Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for quite some time now, but haven't gotten around to it until recently.  My original intention was to paint a piece I found on Craigslist, but instead took to some bedside tables that were in dire need of an update.  If you have never used this paint before, I must tell you it goes on like a dream!  I really don't know why it took me so long to use it.  Keep in mind, this is not chalkboard paint, for those of you who are not familiar.  The best part is there is no prep work required.  That's right, no sanding, priming, etc.  All I did was dust them off, removed the old hardware and painted them in Old White.  After the paint is dry, I applied 2 coats, you have to apply a coat of their furniture wax, but it's really so easy.  If I can do it, anyone can!  I also changed out the hardware to antique brass ring pulls to complete the look.

Here's how they looked before.  So boring and drab.

It's amazing what a little paint and new hardware can do!?
