My Team

I'd like to introduce you to my amazing team here at MSD.  I am overdue in writing this post and these girls deserve all of the recognition that comes their way.  Let me start out by saying I can get a little teary-eyed when talking about them.  I cannot fully explain how much each of them means to me and everything they do on a daily basis.  From keeping client paperwork organized, going the extra mile when we have big deadlines to playing the best music on the ipod dock, these girls keep me in line.  I truly could not operate my firm without them and would not be able to take on as many large scale projects as we have.  Blessed.  I am without words.

Whitney is the newest member to my team and is already inside my head.  Love that!  She spent the last 9 years in Boston where she graduated from Boston Architectural College and worked for Charles Spada Interiors the last 2.5 years.  When she attended the University of Virginia, she spent a semester at sea in Asia.  How cool is that?!  She handles all of the drawings needed for projects and anything else I throw her way.  I'm telling you, she is on it!  I am so happy she moved back to Seattle and joined my team!  Not exactly sure how I ever functioned without her.

Shani is my summer intern.  She is an architectural studies student at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY.  Her interests range from architectural design, to interiors and urban landscapes.  She says that working here has fueled her passion for design even more and you know how much that makes my heart sing! She just returned from a semester in Italy, so I will be getting lots of tips from her on where to go and of course, where to eat for my trip there next year!  She has just applied for another semester there and I may just have to have her show me around.  Since joining my team, my fabric library has never been more organized and takes more thorough notes at client meetings than I do.  Please come back next summer, Shani.  No pressure.  Do you like my subtlety?

Many of you may know Barbara from the blog, Haus Design.  We have know each other since she moved here over a year ago and became fast and dear friends.  She is taking the summer off to spend time with her darling children and do some traveling, but plans to be back in the fall.  Oh, just found out she studied a semester in London when she was in college as well.  I guess studying abroard will now have to be a pre-requisite to work here!
